ELECTROPROBE INSTALLATION 3
(Gijón Magnética),

(2008)

'Gijón Magnética' is an electromagnetic environment created for the 'Electroprobe'. Named after the city of Gijón where the work is exhibited, the installation presents a chaotic assemblage of electric/electronic objects sourced from the Gijón area; electric appliances, mobile phones chargers, clocks, LEDs, transformers and a custom made 'Gijón' neon sign contribute to a sonic landscape - a sound organ and an alternative taxonomy to the apparently chaotic assemblage consisting of glitches, bubbles, drones and bleeps possible to explore through the 'Electroprobe'.

'Gijón Magnética' was exhibited at Nowhere/Now/Here at the Laboral, Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial in Gijón, Asturias. The exhibition was curated by Roberto Feo and Rosario Hurtado of El Último Grito and featured amongst others Martino Gamper, Noam Toran, Eelko MoorerDaniel Charny and Gabi Klasmer.

Further Electroprobe installations include 'Magnetic Guangzhou' and 'Shit! I forgot the iPod'.
