'Digital Zoetrope' / Stedelijk Museum / Amsterdam

The Stedelijk Museum celebrates the prolific career of the Dutch graphic designer Wim Crouwel one of the leading designers of the 20th century and explores his legacy and influence on contemporary graphic design. Inspired by Crouwel's innovative use of grid-based layouts and typographic systems, Troika deconstructed his 'Gridnik' for the Digital Zoetrope, a spinning object that lures you into the visual illusion of seeing different words magically appear and disappear.

The exhibition is organized by the Design Museum, London, in collaboration with the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam.

See Yourself Sensing: Redefining Human Perception

See Yourself Sensing: Redefining Human Perception by Madeline Schwartzman, is the first book to survey the fascinating relationship between design, the body, science and the senses. Over the last 50 years, artists, architects and designers have been experimenting with the boundaries of our senses, altering the way we experience the world. TROIKA's work and practice is featured in the book which examines the work of key practitioners in this field, from Rebecca Horn’s object based installations and Stelarc’s robotic body extensions, to Carsten Hollers’ physically interactive sculptures.

Publication date: June 2011.
